Westworld Panel Going to San Diego Comic Con 2…

HBO will be bringing Westworld to San Diego Comic Con over the summer of 2019, ComicBook.com has learned. The HBO series sat out the 2018 event but will be trotting some of its cast members and writers out onto the stage, along with a new trailer for show’s upcoming third season being expected. The panel will most likely take place in the San Diego Convention Center’s Hall H.

The guests from Westworld’s cast and crew who will attend San Diego Comic Con are currently unclear. However, the network has a slew of options, including cast members such as Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Shannon Woodward, and newcomer Aaron Paul. Given Westworld Season 3’s setting outside of the titular theme park, the series is expected to see a facelift in regards to its cast as a slew of new characters are inevitable.

San Diego Comic Con will take place at the San Diego Convention Center in southern California from July 17 through July 21.

HBO series Westworld to film in Singapore

Fans of science-fiction series Westworld take note – some of your favourite characters might well be showing up in Singapore.

A HBO spokesman confirmed on Thursday (June 13): “Filming locations for the third season of the HBO drama series Westworld (2016 to present) will include Singapore.”

While no other details have been revealed, hints have been dropped online.

Local talent agency Fly Entertainment also put out a casting call on June 1 for what is referred to only as a HBO production.

But the casting director for the unnamed production is John Papsidera, the casting director for Westworld.

According to the open call, filming will take place from July 1 to 9 this year and there will be scenes with lead actors taking place.

New Movie Alert! Evan Rachel Wood to Star in H…

Evan Rachel Wood will star alongside Jim Sturgess and Shinobu Terajima in “One Thousand Paper Cranes,” the story of Hiroshima survivor Sadako Sasaki and author Eleanor Coerr, who wrote the worldwide bestselling children’s book “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.” Independent has boarded sales ahead of Cannes, where the project will be at the Marche. CAA Media Finance is handling North American rights.

Richard Raymond (“Desert Dancer”) will direct from Ben Bolea’s script, which featured on the Black List, the roster of Hollywood’s hottest yet-to-be-produced screenplays. Ian Bryce (“Saving Private Ryan”) will produce alongside Richard Raymond and Irene Yeung.

The film will tell the true story of Sasaki, who was a 2-year-old in Hiroshima when the atomic bomb was dropped on the city in 1945. She was later diagnosed with leukemia caused by exposure to radiation from the blast. She drew strength from a Japanese legend that, if she folded 1,000 paper cranes, she would be granted a wish, which in her case was to live.

Coerr, an aspiring journalist and young mother, learns of the girl and becomes determined to share her story with the world. The Canadian-American author’s subsequent children’s book went on to achieve classic status after its publication in 1977. It remains widely read. Sadako’s legacy includes a statue of her holding a crane in the Hiroshima Peace Park.

The film also incorporates elements of Takayuki Ishii’s novel “One Thousand Paper Cranes: The Story of Sadako and the Children’s Peace Statue.”

Shooting on “One Thousand Paper Cranes” will get underway later this year.
